Gulevi is in Safranbolu, which has been registered as a World Heritage City by UNESCO as a living culture, history, and nature area. Gulevi carries the nobles and dignity of Ottoman Era to our days and provides gusto and tranquility by draping the beauty of Safranbolu under your feet. Gulevi, which presents the unique pattern of Safranbolu for her guests seek to breath the tranquility of Safranbolu, a sanctuary aiming to keep satisfaction and quality at first.

Gulevi is in service at Hacimemisler Mansion, which has been named after the family Hacimemisler who were one of the outstanding families of Safranbolu and who keep the traces of 200 years history and special texture. The mansion was purchased by Gul & Ibrahim Canbulat who is award winner of the Chamber of Architects of Turkey for Preservation and Restoration. The mansion was badly damaged after the previous restoration due to extra bedrooms added onto the common courts carelessly and the original exceptional structure was destroyed. The mansion was revitalized after a tidy restoration extending over 1 year.

Gulevi, which means "Rose-home" and takes its name from Gul Canbulat who is responsible of her management, and decorated Gulevi according to tastes and style of the heydays of the mansion.

Recently, the second building of Gulevi - Safranbolu, Betenler Mansion has been put into service after restoration, which extended over 2 years. The man who gave the name to his family and the mansion was an Ottoman Judge in Jerusalem in 19th Century. He brought gusto and high level of standards to Safranbolu and most probably kept his profession for a while. One can easily see his home-office and its reflection to the inner space of the mansion. The high standards and fine decoration of Gulevi - Safranbolu concept has been applied to 5 rooms of Betenler Mansion.

Room Details

Each of the ten rooms in Gulevi are different in shades and texture s but hide the simplicity and dignity of Ottoman houses in the velvet-upholstered divans, embroidered curtains and decorated wooden ceilings. Gulevi consists of ten Ottoman Bed Rooms one being the suit, one being the Master Bed Room. Meanwhile, Gulevi has been technically supported by requirements of modern life without harming the integrity of the original mansion.

Additional to the presently open Aquarius Cafe - Bar with a capacity of 24 seats, a banquet hall with 16 seats, restaurant with 24 seats and garden with 60 seats will be at your service soon to enjoy our special Anatolian cuisine.

As being UNESCO World Heritage City, Safranbolu provides extensive cultural enrichment. Safranbolu is in the center of the Western Blacksea Region, which provides exceptional geographical beauties like canyons and natural forests where you can make unforgettable tracking, horse riding and bicycling activities. Blacksea is 90 km away from Safranbolu, where you can swim and have fresh fish.

Arrival Details

Gulevi is in the historic center of Safranbolu which is 220 km from Ankara and 440 km from Istanbul Airports. By car either from Ankara or Istanbul, you should drive on TEM (Trans-Europe Motorway) up to Gerede Junction and drive additional 100 km on State Highways to Safranbolu.

A hall suitable for 36 seats in seminar-room layout and 18 seats in meeting-room layout with audio-video equipment is ready for your service.
