Welcome to Maroma Resort & Spa, voted #1 Beach in the World by The Travel Channel! Located on the Riviera Maya, Maroma is a luxury resort in the tradition of the Mexican hospitality where personal service, warm hospitality and privacy are unsurpassed. The property benefits from its location in the second largest barrier reef, providing a unique environment for water activities and a crystal clear water and unspoiled beach provide the utmost in privacy and natural beauty.

Rooms glow with mahogany and bamboo-filtered light. Handpainted tiles, soft wool rugs, original art and furniture from our own workshops make each room unique. King-size beds and luxury baths, some with sunken tubs, provide delicious comfort just steps away from the sparkling turquoise Caribbean sea.

El Sol is Maroma's formal dining restaurant, which is located in a seperate dining room and offers dramatic ocean views. Executive Chef Guillermo Gomez presents innovative Mexican cuisine, blending the flavors of the Yucatan, Maya and Creole Cultures with his own approach to create dishes like grilled rib-eye beef with mole escargot over huitlocoche ragout. The wine cellar boasts a wide choice of the finest wines in the world.

At El Restaurante, our more casual dining room, also with ocean views, the focus during the day is on the classic Yucatan cuisine, which uses local ingredients like plantains, mango, cactus paddle, avocadoes, red snapper and sea bass. In the evenings the menu draws on Executive Chef Guillermo Gomez's Argentinean heritage with a "Caribbean Steakhouse" offering.

Kinan [pronounced - keynan] is the Maya word for 'the energy of the sun'. Similar to the Asian concept of Chi, Kinan is also used to refer to individual energy. Here at Maroma, our mission is to help you unlock your inner energy and spirit.

Kinan is a healing sanctuary that offers a full range of services in unique environments ranging from couple's treatment suites to open-air massage palapas; and from a roof top yoga palapa, with 360-degree views of Maroma's duel ecosystems, to a jantzu pool surrounded by Zen-like gardens.

The Maya Temazcal is similar to a North American Indian sweat lodge in which a source of heat (in this case super heated lava rocks) are doused with herb-infused water to create aromatic and healing steam, which removes toxins from the body and balances the energy flow of the people within.

Hard as it is to resist lazing in Maroma’s hammocks all day, guests would be remiss not to explore beyond resort grounds as many archaeological treasures are nearby, including Tulum, Coba and the other-worldly ChichenItza.

These three most famous Mayan sites are splendid remains of a culture rich in astronomy (priests used the tops of temples and pyramids as observatories), mathematics (the Maya had a calendar and were among the inventors of the concept of zero) and spirituality.

Maroma’s waters are superb for snorkeling, scuba and deep sea diving, and resort staff can arrange any type of outing.
