About Northern Mexico

The Experience

Northern Mexico is a land with a very diverse landscape, from its mountainous regions to it plains, its desert to its canyon system, and its biosphere region to its fertile valleys. The cities of Northern Mexico are a perfect blend of history, culture, and modernism. There's Chihuahua City, home of Pancho Villa's mansion. Then there's Hermosillo with its interesting blend of ancient and modern architecture. Next is Bahía Kino, Northern Mexico's largest coastal city. Here, tourists can engage in waterskiing, diving, fishing, swimming, and relaxing on and off the beautiful white-sand beaches. Finally, in Monterrey, you will find a well-organized city with a great deal of cultural attractions, both inside city limits and in the immediate surrounding area. Macro Plaza contains the highest monument in all of Mexico, the Faro de Comercio. Among Monterrey's culinary delights are roasted cabrito (baby goat, barbecue style) and machacha created with dried meat.

Location

The section of Mexico considered Northern Mexico consists of the entire northern half of Mexico stretching approximately to the bottom of the Baja California Peninsula.
