About Scotland

The Experience

Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, is a city with a rich history and beautiful architecture. Famous for its magnificent castle and Palace of Holyroodhouse, Edinburgh is also well known for its international arts festival excellent museums. West of Edinburgh is Glasgow, an industrial city with a wide range of fine museums and galleries that complement the notable 18th and 19th century architecture. While southern Scotland has a beautiful landscape, it pales in comparison to the dim glens and well-traversed hills of the Trossachs, and it cannot match the beauty of the Highlands, whose mountains, cliffs, glens, and lochs cover the northern two-thirds of the country. Some of Britain's most exhilarating wilderness experiences are to be had on the Scottish islands. The Orkney and Shetland islands are found in northernmost Scotland and are home to a people of Norse heritage. Here you'll find some of Europe's best birdwatching sites as well as spectacular archeological remains.

Location

Scotland is a European country located at the northern end of the United Kingdom island.
