Inaugurated in April 2001 by visionary Scottish hotelier Ken McCulloch and his Formula One business partner David Coulthard, Columbus Monaco has since its opening introduced a concept which seemed controversial in Monaco until then simplicity.
Located in Fontvieille near the harbour, Monaco's up and coming area, Columbus Monaco is conveniently located opposite the heliport (Nice International Airport is only 6 minutes away by helicopter) and only a few minutes away from the Place du Casino.
The 'Riviera chica' style of the hotel was conceptualised by Ken McCullocha's wife and international award-winning interior designer, Amanda Rosa, who has combined noble materials such as leather, marble, wood and stones and neutral tones to create a chic and comfortable atmosphere. The 181 bedrooms, including 28 suites and junior suites, have been decorated to reflect the same elegant style and offer breathtaking views on the Mediterranean sea and the Rocher on one side and the Princess Grace Rose Garden and the mountains on the other.
