La Minervetta, originally a restaurant built in the 1950's by Don Giovanni Cacace in a very unique position, sits on the seacliff overlooking Marina Grande, just minutes away from the centre of Sorrento.
Thanks to the breathtaking views from the terraces and salons, and the passion for fine cuisine passed onto Don Giovanni's nephew, Luigi, La Minervetta soon became one of the most prestigious restaurants of the Sorrentine peninsula.
Managed for over 30 years by outsiders, in 2003 the hotel La Minervetta finally returned to the Cacace family. Signora Adda Cacace , together with her son Marco, an interior decorator and scenographer, decided to remodel and bring back the prestige from a time ago.
Signora Adda, whose Danish mother taught her an appreciation for beautiful homes, wishes to welcome her guests into a harmonious atmosphere, in combination with the natural wonder of the volcano Vesuvius, the Golf of Naples, and the lively Marina Grande, it is truly a jewel of the Sorrento Coast.
With a large lounge area, dining room and kitchen accessible to the guests, opening onto an exclusive terrace with spectacular views, La Minervetta offers all the comforts of being in a private home. With 12 Mediterranean style rooms and windows gazing down onto Marina Grande, guests will truly enjoy living the daily life of an antique fisherman's village. The hotel has now opened a new outdoor area; this includes private stairs connecting directly to the old fisherman's village named Marina Grande, and with all the restaurants and beaches down there; a solarium and relaxing space (ideal for reading), peaceful and with a terrific view (just 20 metres above sea level, it really seems that you can touch the fisherman's boats); a beautiful garden and a giant cold-water hydromassage jacuzzi.
Maison "La Minervetta" has 12 beautiful rooms all overlooking the Bay of Naples and the antique fishing village Marina Grande.
Our unique lounge area, opens onto a large panoramic terrace, where a client's every request is fulfilled. The terrace is fully equipped with large sunbeds, sofas, chaise lounges, and umbrellas to ensure our guest's comfort and relaxation. Charmingly decorated with colourful flowers and plants the terrace is the ideal place to enjoy the spectacular view of the Gulf of Sorrento and Vesuvius.
Our kitchen is a very special place in the Maison. From the hand- painted Vietri tiles to the home-cooked breakfast, the kitchen area makes our guests feel like they are on holiday in a home away from home. Guests can have breakfast or cocktails on the terrace, while soaking in the breathtaking surroundings.
The Maison staff is happy to take care of all guest requests:
transfer to and from all destinations, excursions, guided tours, car, scooter and boat rental, reservations for restaurants, sporting activities, laundry service, private beach, baby sitter service, massage and beauty treatments.
The Maison has private parking and is completely accessible by elevator.
