About Zimbabwe

The Experience

In Zimbabwe, a visitor can gaze upon hundreds of species of tropical wildlife, thrill to the experience of white water rafting, scale chilly mountain peaks, and savor the history of a people that goes back tens of thousands of years. It all starts with the brooding granite hills of the Matopos. A short drive from the city of Bulawayo, visitors can soar over the Matopos in a hot-air balloon enjoying the sight of rare Black Eagles resting in the crevices. The Eastern Highlands with their scenic beauty of mountains, deep forests, river and waterfalls are popular with golfers. Here visitors can find some of the finest courses of golf in Zimbabwe. For bird lovers, opportunities for tours are numerous, because Zimbabwe has one of the largest numbers of different species in the world. Conservancies, where wildlife is protected and managed as a natural resource, cover a vast area of Zimbabwe. Finally, the Masvingo ruins are home to the largest stone building south of the Sahara and also a world heritage site.
